Youngkin Announces Small Business Loans for Hurricane-Hit Counties


Farmers and agricultural and forestry businesses may borrow money to help offset lost revenue and make repairs

Gov. Glenn Youngkin said today that the Virginia Small Business Finance Authority, in partnership with the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission, will offer disaster loans to farmers and small agricultural and forestry businesses in Southwest Virginia counties affected by Hurricane Helene.

The Agricultural Disaster Microloan Program will provide financial help to Virginia small businesses impacted by the hurricane. The program offers loans of up to $50,000 to support farmers and owners of agricultural and forestry businesses as they recover from the storm. The loans can be used for covering lost revenue, repairing damage, and replacing damaged equipment.

The $6 million loan fund will be available to any small business in the agriculture and forestry industries within the following cities and counties:

  • Charlotte
