Texas ranked #6 in the Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index, its best ranking in 17 years of the annual report.
AUSTIN (April 9, 2024) – Award-winning economists ranked Texas #6 overall in competitiveness and economic outlook in the 17th edition of the Rich States, Poor States: ALEC-Laffer State Economic Competitiveness Index. NFIB State Director Jeff Burdett commended the Texas Legislature for prioritizing tax relief during the 2023 session, calling it a ‘solid foundation’ for future tax relief and greater opportunity.
