
Japan’s famed cherry blossom season is just around the corner and — thanks to the weak yen — this year may be a particularly affordable time to see nature’s spectacular displays in person.
We can’t promise small crowds though: The fall in the currency hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the nation welcoming 25 million tourists in 2023, the largest number since 2019. December marked the seventh consecutive month in which the number of foreign visitors exceeded 2 million, the highest figure for that month on record.
